Creative Arts Camp
July 15 – 19, 2019
Deaf Spotlight will offer an annual arts day camp during summer. This is for youth ages 8-13 who are Deaf, Hard of hearing, or Children of Deaf Adults (KODAs). Deaf artists will provide a hands-on exploration of a rich variety of artistic mediums in a well-supervised and Deaf-friendly environment. 20 spaces available.
The day camp will be at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center from July 15 – 19. 2019. The campers will have a chance to learn from signing/Deaf instructors in painting, illustration, photography and storytelling. This will be our fourth camp!
Deaf Spotlight inspires and showcases Deaf Culture and American Sign Language through the arts. Deaf Spotlight illuminates the artist within every Deaf person.

NTID Performing Arts was established in the Fall of 1974, with the opening of the Institute’s new permanent buildings, as integral part of the Institute’s curriculum following the success of the student drama club founded by Dr. Robert Panara in 1969.
Originally named the Experimental Educational Theatre (EET), NTID Performing Arts offers an array of theatre courses and produces 3 productions and one outreach tour per season.
CORRECTION to our recent update: we will host another round of auditions for our Spring 2020 production of MEASURE FOR MEASURE and its remaining 10 roles in late August; Fall 2019’s ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST has been cast already. Hope to see you then!

The New York Deaf Theatre, LTD (NYDT) was established in 1979 by a group of Deaf actors and theatre artists who wanted to create opportunities for the production of a dramatic art form that was not found elsewhere in New York City: plays in American Sign Language (ASL).
A not-for-profit, professional theatre organization, NYDT is the longest running company of its kind in the greater New York City area and the third oldest Deaf Theatre company in America.
